If you live in Wheaton or Lombard, Dental Care of Glen Ellyn is a short drive away at 505 Crescent Blvd in downtown Glen Ellyn. Dr. Brian Shin sees kids and adults from all over DuPage County. Your first visit includes digital X-rays, a full exam and gum check, and time to talk with Dr. Shin about anything that's been bothering you.
One thing to know up front: we're out of network with all insurance plans. Many patients still use their insurance with us, and patients without insurance usually join our Smile Club membership plan. More on both below.
What happens at the first visit?
Getting to know you. We go over your medical history, any past dental records and a few questions about your habits.
Digital X-rays. These show us what we can't see in a regular exam, like cavities between teeth or bone loss.
Exam and gum check. Dr. Shin checks each tooth and measures your gums to screen for gum disease. We may use a small intraoral camera so you can see what we see.
Talking it over. Dr. Shin explains what he found and what, if anything, needs treatment. You'll get a written plan with costs before we start anything.
How does out-of-network insurance work?
Out of network means we don't have a contract with your insurance company. With a PPO plan, you can usually still see any dentist you choose. Your plan pays its out-of-network rate, and depending on your plan, it might pay us directly or pay you back. Call your insurance or call us with your plan info and we'll help you figure out what to expect.
What is the Smile Club?
Smile Club is our in-house membership plan for patients without insurance. Benefits start right away and last 12 months.

All plans include 10% to 20% off other treatment at our office. There are no deductibles, waiting periods or yearly maximums. Prices can change.
